Another day in the life....

Justin and I had a very good weekend but it just always goes by to quickly! If anyone knows how to slow down Saturday & Sunday please let me know! Thanks!

Friday night we enjoyed dinner at our favorite spot, Firebird's, with our dear friends the Crutcher's! Little Landry girl was at home with her grandparents so we missed her but we had a great time! Saturday I got to have lunch with a great friend and we got to celebrate some great news for her family! ;) Then Saturday night we cooked out at our house for dinner with the Calametti's! So we had a weekend filled with friends which is always a great time! Justin and I finally went back to Riverchase United Methodist on Sunday morning and we loved it. We met the associate Pastor and talked with him about joining the church and he gave us all the information we needed and we are going to meet with the Senior Pastor, Dr. Jim Savage next Sunday before the service. We are very excited about joining and getting to know the people. We hope to meet a lot of couples our age and hopefully will make life long friends through the church. We are both going to be baptised after we join the church. I was baptised as a child and Justin has not ever been baptised. So this is something that is very important to us. We both feel we need to re-dedicate our lives to God. So we can not wait to do all of these things in the next few weeks. After church on Sunday we decided to try out Sunday lunch at Riverchase Country Club, where we are members at. It was very nice and we had a great time. I can not wait to go out there this summer and hopefully meet some new people. Justin has meet a few men out there playing golf but we are going to start going out there more for all the functions they always have going on.

Friday is my 24th birthday, but it does not even feel like it. I have always been so excited about my birthday and it seems though every year I get older the less and less my birthday really means to me. This year Miss Mary-Ross has taken over my every thought so everything else seems to slip by. The month has gone by so fast that I almost forgot my birthday was this weekend. If not for Justin I may not have remembered! Justin always remembers when we first started dating and how my birthday was the most important thing ever! It was like that the first few years but the past 2 or 3 years it has been getting less and less important! :) I already received the best gift ever which is Mary-Ross so if that's the only gift I get then that is ok with me! (P.S. Justin Rolling still better get me a birthday present! :) ) Hahaha. I am so excited for this weekend though because my parents are coming on Friday, the Rolling's are coming up Saturday morning to paint the nursery (YAY!!) & take me out for a birthday lunch, and then my grandparents are coming that afternoon and my whole side of the family is going out for dinner. So it will be another great weekend and after this weekend I can officially start getting the nursery in the correct order! I have been waiting to move everything how I want it because we still have a bed in the room but not after Saturday! My sweet sweet in-laws are hauling the mattress and bed frame back to Luverne to store for us. So once we have that out of the way we can arrange all the furniture the way I want it! We have the bedding already but I have not put it on the bed yet because I wanted to wait until the room was painted. So I am going to wash all the bedding this week and get it all ready to be put in it's place this weekend! My in-laws are giving me a chandelier as my birthday present to hang in Mary-Ross's room so we will hang it and the other wall mounted lamp I had already bought as well. I ordered the rocker last week so at least it has been ordered. Can not wait to see it in the room! So the only piece of furniture we do not have is a bookcase. But, my sister and I are in the process of looking for one. So hopefully we will have the time to go look this weekend or another day soon. When my grandparents come on Saturday they are going to measure the windows so we can order the fabric next week for my Meme to make the curtains! It's all coming together! Luckily again my in-laws (which if you can not tell are basically the best in-laws ever in history!!) bought Justin and me our crib and dresser when we found out what we were having! So we have it now for almost a month. Luckily when we told the store which one we wanted to order they found out they actually had one left in stock in the exact pieces we wanted! So Justin went and picked it up the next day and put it all together! Needless to say this is all I've been able to think about so I am so happy we are finally getting to start on it!

The months ahead are just going to get better and better. They take us one step closer to meeting our sweet angel! She is already so loved and talked about non-stop. We are just so curious to see what she will look like and what her personality will be.

Until next time....

Latest Doctor Visit....

After having so much fun in Arizona I had to go in to see the doctor when I got back because I started having a lot of pain on my right side while in Glendale. The doctor wanted to see me because the pain had been consistent for 3 days and was getting worse. I was a little nervous but felt very confident everything was just peachy with Mary-Ross because she had really started moving around so much on the trip and I had felt her kick a lot in the past few days. I had to go without food before my appointment because they wanted to do an ultrasound of my gallbladder. Everything turned out to be fine with my gallbladder and kidney. Mary-Ross was in perfect condition as well thank god! After waiting 2 hours to see the doctor they told me everything was great and that I probably had a pinched nerve or something and to basically suck it up! So I did! Haha. Luckily the pain has gone away and I've only felt it for short periods since then! Weird but glad it's gone and it was nothing serious! I was so happy because I got to see my baby girl which made me so happy and she was moving all around! I got a few more pictures of her so it was worth the couple hours without food! :) They cancelled my appointment for the end of January and re-scheduled me for the first week of February for my gestational diabetes test and regular 4 week check-up. We won't get to see our angel then but maybe the next time! We can not wait to see how much she has grown! I will be 22 weeks on Saturday.

Till next time!

Glendale or BUST!

The Bass family headed out to Glendale, Arizona to watch our Auburn tigers in the National Championship. We had a wonderful family trip and we were so happy we got to see our Tigers win the title as National Champs!

Our family had not taken a trip, just the four of us, in a long time. It was very nice to spend some quality time together. Kristen and me headed out of Nashville on Saturday and meet up with Mom and Dad in Denver. The flight was fine but I will say it is a lot harder traveling when you are 20 weeks pregnant! A pregnant woman is not made to fit in COACH! So the flights were very uncomfortable! My feet were severely swollen after the flight and I could not even fit my foot in my shoes! We had to buy me a new pair the next day because they were still so swollen! We had plans and events scheduled for everyday we were there so we were busy bees! The walking ended up taking a toll on me and my right side started aching and lasted for the next few days! I tried not to be Debbie Downer and enjoy the rest of our trip but we had to start taking more sitting down breaks! Kristen and me had to remind Mom & Dad that we required food very frequently and that we couldn't go hours in between nourishment! Hehe. So after those few adjustments we were all happy! We enjoyed a lot of great food in Arizona! We even snuck in a quick shopping trip at the amazing mall in Scottsdale! Wish we could have shopped more but we had to many things on our to-do list! The game was fantastic and a nail biter but luckily the Aubies pulled out our last "W" for the season! Would not have traded anything in the world to be there at that moment!

So overall the Bass family vacation was a success and Mary Ross attended her first National Championship game!

Welcome 2011!

WHOA! Is it really 2011? It seems Justin and I were just ringing in the New Year here in Birmingham with great friends and we were wearing hats that say 2010! Well, we all know how fast time goes by and Justin and I are welcoming 2011 with open arms.

One thing Justin and I can say about 2010 is that God has been really keeping a close eye on us and our families and that we could have never even asked for so many blessings he has given us in one year! Here are some of the great things we got to experience in 2010.....

Right after we rang in the New Year we went skiing in Breckenridge, Colorado with a group of friends and it was a blast!

Then I found out my sister was expecting on my 23rd birthday!

Shortly after that Justin and I decided to put our house on the market and we began the house hunting process, and only after our first weekend of looking around we found the neighborhood Chace Lake and fell in love! We were offered an amazing deal to build a house in Chace Lake and we signed the contracts that following weekend and then they started the building process!

My sister found out she was having TWINS! Very exciting for us all!

Then we got the news that she was having GIRLS!

Somewhere either before or after we found out about Blakely's condition....and then the whirlwind of emotions and information came and the rollercoaster ride began for our family.

Our best friends Amy and Scooter gave birth to little Landry on May 28th!

Justin and I celebrated our one year anniversary on May 30th! We made it!

We decided that we were ready to start a family at the beginning of June! :)

Then we closed on our house June 28th and we moved into our new home!

Then the twins were born on August 9th and after a very stressful day everyone was doing great!

On September 25th I found out I was pregnant with Mary Ross and we were so excited! :) :)

Then we got the Moran family back in Birmingham with us and we could have not been happier!

Justin and I went to our first doctor's appointment on October 6th to hear Mary Ross's heartbeat! Here is an ultrasound from our appointment in November when Mary Ross was 11 weeks!
Justin and I went on a Babymoon to NYC in November and had a blast!
Justin celebrated his 30th birthday on December 4th!

Then we got to find out Mary Ross was a girl on December 27th!

So as you can see we had an amazing year and we are so happy for all the many blessings that have come our way in 2010! I could have never imagined a better year after such a great one last year but 2011 is bringing us the best gift in the whole world, the birth of our first child. We are beyond excited and can not wait to meet our little angel! We know that she will bring us so many memories and we can not wait to be a family of three! It is so amazing to know that our years are just going to get better and better because of Mary Ross.

And just a little side note for you all if you were wondering where the name Mary Ross came from here it is! Ross is Justin's middle name and after we were married I always knew I wanted to use Ross for one of our children. The name Mary came from my great-grandmother Moma T, that was her name and I loved her so much even though she passed away when I was a young child. I always loved double names and loved when people used the name Mary something so after Justin and me got married I put the 2 together and knew that is what we would name our little girl someday!

Hope everyone has a great week!
